Amazon has one of the largest advertising platforms in the world. Amazon’s US digital ad revenues were reported as $31.16 billion in 2021, rising 57.8% over the prior year and representing 9% of the digital advertising market. In Q1 2022, Amazon’s ad revenues grew 25% year over year. When you start off selling on Amazon, you have to advertise to generate “sales velocity”. As your Product listing matures, you still have to advertise, but at a lower % of Sales to maintain your momentum.
