
Andrés Tovar
Andrés Tovar is the Assistant Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the Economic Development Collaborative, representing the counties of Santa Barbara and Ventura. He graduated from CSU Channel Islands with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and also holds dual Associate degrees in International Business and Business Administration from Santa Barbara City College. Andrés has lived in the United States for over two decades and has called California home for 17 years. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, he brings a global perspective to his work.
He previously supported small businesses in Colombia with international trade and helped a California-based business expand its services internationally. His professional interests include international business, entrepreneurship, e-commerce, marketing, project management, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Andrés is trained in Lean Six Sigma principles and is committed to helping businesses grow through strategic guidance, the use of emerging technologies, and improved operational efficiency.
